Robbins puts a hunchback as an ominous figure on this cover, but puts The Shadow as a supernatural form transcending the scene, looking down from the sky. The Shadow not only scrambles the minds of men, but basic physics!
In the style of the 1970s DC comics, the story is telegraphed to the potentialk reader with various plot clues on the cover: "Brute killer at large" and "Wanted Pile" - - but Robbins is also setting the reader up with a false impression of what the story contains.
