Frank Robbins Batman Art - Page 9

Detective Comics #420
February 1972
Published by DC Comics, Copyright DC Comics

Robbins thick black inking suits Batman stories perfectly.

Here Robbins takes time to describe visually the villains goofy lair, but the rest of the page contains Robbins tendency to jam too much into the foreground, possibly a way to avoid heavy background detailing.

"This proves it, Batman!"

Batman: "Usurper... I have risen fromt he grave to avenge my death! Prepare to die in the same way you murdered me... at the same moment... at the cockcrow, ten years to the day, from the night of infamy! Your Nemesis!"
